Vietnam, 2013

I didn’t take a lot of photographs during my month and a half stay in Vietnam. I sure wish that I had. It’s a beautiful place – not just the green countryside, but the rich life of the cities.

It was an extremely disorganised trip that fell apart as soon as it began, with my contact pulling out of a deal to host me, leaving me short of budget and friends and in an existential crisis. Add to that, 2013 in general was a fraught year in general. These are surely the reasons there aren’t many photographs.

This only makes the photos I have all the more precious – evidence of moments I took a break to appreciate the beauty of the world around me.

I wasn’t seriously into photography at this stage. On second thoughts, in some way I was, as I took a lot of photos usually. These photos are from an iPhone 4, which sported a surprisingly capable sensor. Enjoy.
