Brisbane based strategic designer, helping organisations to create or optimise their brand and message.
Having designed websites for businesses, I set out on a journey to learn how to make design services more effective. This led me to QUT’s forward thinking Visual and Interactive Design program, and then to the Futur, an amazing group of creative businesspeople who are determined to do work that actually moves the needle for clients.
What I have discovered is that the first stage of any good design is strategic. Knowing why you need to do things will help you know what to do. If you know what to do you can save a lot of time figuring out how to do it, and focus your energies for greater effect.
Once you know what to do it also makes the design process infinitely more efficient because there are meaningful design constrains around the work, making the process easier to engage with and asses.
Outside help might seem unnecessary, but it can offer an objective view of your situation, free of any attachment to how-things-are and oblivious to prior investments.
It can also be hard to solve some problems or make changes internally because your team will be biased towards maintaining relationships. And so they should be. Rest assured we will respect, and tap, everyone’s experience.
Talk to me! I’d love to chat about what you do or make and who for. I live to talk about the things that are bigger than us, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
